A Network Connecting School Leaders From Around The Globe
Dear Colleagues:
Last March I had the pleasure of presenting to many of you at the LI SEL Conference onGrowth Mindset research and applications for teaching and learning. Thank you for participating and for contributing so many interesting ideas and questions!
For the past several years, the company I co-founded with Carol Dweck, Mindset Works, has been providing Brainology®, an interactive, animated computer program for grades 4-9 that teaches a growth mindset by teaching students how the brain changes and grows stronger with learning. (More information and a free preview can be found atwww.brainology.us.)
Our experience has shown that the strongest benefit for students’ mindset takes place when teachers also share the growth mindset, and have strategies and tools to help support it in their students. Further, communities of teachers can benefit themselves from growth mindset thinking. Therefore, we have been developing a new set of resources to help schools cultivate true growth mindset communities—the Growth Mindset Learning Platform. It includes professional development resources for teachers, tools to help support growth mindset instruction, and an online community where educators can share ideas, strategies, and resources with growth-minded colleagues all over the world.
We are now recruiting schools to participate in a pilot study using the Platform and provide us with feedback and data on its impact. If you might be interested in bringing these resources to your school, please email our Research Director, Sylvia Rodriguez, atsrodriguez@mindsetworks.com, for further information. (Please put LI SEL - GMLP in the subject header.)
Best wishes for a fun and relaxing summer, and a great start to the school year ahead!
Lisa

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource
Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and
other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching
practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
