Hi everyone!  I am a music educator who has received an IPAD from my school.  However, I have no idea what apps are good for students grades K-8.  Have music teachers used this device successfully in the classroom?  Please respond!  Thanks.

Here are a few suggestions:

GarageBand- full music editor, built-in instruments, ability to sync with Mac version, add voice over or singing
Magic Piano - fun piano
Falling Stars - Fun visual instrument - opening screen is a Trident ad
Singing Fingers - great app for mixing drawing , instruments and sounds
Thanks Jared!  I will check them out.  My principal also recommended I check out Garage Band.  :)
try quickvoice for recoding students andI downloaded pro tuner, ear trainer, and steinway metronome. I also found interactive fingering charts for flute and trumpet....flute lite and trumpet lite.  great for k-8
