Welcome everyone!

I'd like to address the current discussion about Internet Safety by addressing social media. To start, I've shared an online paper I've created using a tool called Paper.li. It is called Social Media and Youth Safety and you can access the 7/25/11 issue here: http://paper.li/f-1311219698/2011/07/25

Using social media to gather snippets of articles is one way to manage all your incoming information. The online paper is easy and free to create. To start, you must log in with a Twitter or Facebook account. After creating a title, you can pull information in from your social media using #hashtags or key words. After selecting whether you'd like to generate the paper weekly, daily or have an evening and morning edition, you are ready to View.

Once you view your paper for accuracy, you can share. Subscribe to any paper by clicking on the Subscribe button. You'll be notified every time a paper has been created. It's easy!

If you create a paper or find one you love, please share it with our group!

In the meantime, if you have a few minutes and want to browse, here are two of my favorites!

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource

Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and

other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching

practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
