Is age really an issue?  I'm not sure.  Is it me?  Does my experience hinder or help my chances of getting a job?  I can manage a classroom, I can manage the aides, I used to be responsible for hundreds of thousands of dollars while I was in banking but I still can't get hired as a teacher.  I love the kids I work with.  I'm invested in them because they are in my community.  I've known most of these kids since kindergarten.  I feel as though my belief in caring for the whole child is no longer the trend in school. As a sub I continue to see the child suffer.  It's very disconcerting.
