Hello,

I am excited to announce two new on-line learning resources.

I am partnering with Eduplanet21, a software company that offers an innovative on-line platform for professional learning as well as curriculum planning software based on Understanding by Design (UbD)®. I have been working with Eduplanet21 on a series of on-line course modules on UbD, known as Learning Paths. The first of these is now available, and it provides a thorough introduction to the key ideas of UbD along with design tools to guide teachers in applying the 3 stage “backward design” process for unit planning. This professional learning course can be used in two ways:

1) for introductory training for teachers and administrators new to UbD, and

2) as a supportive “refresher” for current users.

Two additional Paths are targeted for development -- an Advanced UbD course and a Path on Macro curriculum mapping.  For more information on the UbD Learning Paths, click here:    https://www.eduplanet21.com/ubd/

I am also partnering with Defined Learning to offer a series of on-line course modules on Developing and Using Authentic Performance Tasks. The tasks are intended for use as rich learning activities and/or performance based assessments. In conjunction with the on-line modules, I have written seven blogs on the topic.  To access these free blogs and to learn more about the on-line modules, click here:

Please share this information with other educators who may be interested.

Best wishes,

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource

Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and

other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching

practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
