$30 per person (includes registration, continental breakfast and lunch)

This workshop is sponsored by The Long Island Youth Safety Coalition (LIYSC) which is run by the Nassau County District Attorney office. The LIYSC is an organization comprised of local school districts, youth groups, substance abuse treatment organizations and law enforcement agencies dedicated to keeping Long Island's youth safe from destructive decision making.

 

District Attorney Madeline Singas is proud to announce that this year's youth safety conference will focus on ‘Stop the Violence” and feature Don McPherson, renowned activist, educator, feminist and College Football Hal of Famer. His work on youth safety and especially men’s violence against women is legendary.

 

There will be over 10 informational workshops and resources of practical value to teachers and youth workers on a wide variety of topics including gun violence, human trafficking, social media, self-harm, DA’s School Safety Task Force.

 

Social work, mental health and education CEU and CTLE credits will be available.

Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and
