Teenagers' brains and their mental health are affected by the use of social media, Mitch Prinstein, the chief science officer at the American Psychological Association, said during a recent Senate Judiciary Committee hearing. Prinstein's testimony offers 10 notable pieces of information, including that while social media can offer points of social connection for teens, it can also lead to addictive and disordered behaviors, bullying, and poor sleep.
