The Working on Womanhood program addresses mental health challenges among Black and Hispanic girls by offering weekly circles and therapy sessions in schools. A study from the University of Chicago Education Lab indicates that WOW significantly reduces PTSD symptoms and anxiety among participants, emphasizing the importance of school-based mental health support in an environment where girls spend most of their time.
