A Network Connecting School Leaders From Around The Globe
Dear Superintendents and Principals:
Early next week, your school will be receiving a CD with the 2011 NYSESLAT school roster report and Individual Student Reports (ISRs) from the departments vendor, Questar Assessment, Inc. Some superintendents will be receiving similar CDs that will include ISRs for English language learners who are not assigned to a district public school (i.e., home schooled, homebound, and out-of-district placed students). Please disregard the NYSESLAT results that you will receive on the CDs as they may be inaccurate. These inaccuracies are also likely to be present in any NYSESLAT results that your school or district received through its regional information center (RIC) or large city assessment office. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you. Questar Assessment, Inc. will be generating new files for all schools and districts that had students participate in the 2011 NYSESLAT. The updated test results will be available through the RIC/large city assessment office during the week of August 8. Questar Assessment, Inc. will also be shipping CDs containing the updated test results for delivery to your school during the week of August 15. If you have any questions regarding the NYSESLAT results for your students, please contact the Office of Assessment Policy, Development and Administration by e-mail (emscassessinfo@mail.nysed.gov). We appreciate all the hard work you do in administering NYSESLAT and in providing services to English language learners. Again we apologize for the inconvenience we may have caused you. Sincerely, David Abrams Assistant Commissioner Office of Assessment Policy, Development and Administration |

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource
Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and
other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching
practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
