The Molloy College Division of Education together with the Division of Continuing Education and Professional Development is planning to present an outstanding opportunity for educators throughout the Long Island region to hear two national speakers discuss some critical issues related to assessment and diverse students. Participants can register for one, two or four days, so there is flexibility.  The conference registration includes the presenters' publications, breakfast and lunch, so it is a really great deal!

Margo Gottlieb, Ph.D. (July 14, 2016)  (A must-see speaker)

Viewing Assessment For English Language Learners Through A Different Lens

Joseph Casbarro Ph.D. (July 15, 2016)

Test Anxiety: Causes, Management And Strategies To Facilitate Student Performance

Please note that these conferences are part of a larger 4-day Summer Institute on "Assessment Practices for Students with Diverse Learning Needs" from July 12-15

that can be taken for 3 graduate credits. www.molloy.edu/ce/4dayassessment (Course Lead: Dr. Audrey Cerruto).

Please share this information with anyone who might be interested and consider inviting them to this inaugural event at Molloy College.

I hope you can send some people and maybe even join us for one or more days. Dr. Margo Gottlieb is the international guru on ELL assessment from WIDA and the Illinois Research Center and we are so fortunate she said yes to coming to Molloy. We use her book as a text for ESOL certification. Dr. Joe Casbarro is addressing a topic that all educators encounter and Dr. Audra Cerruto is a wonderful colleague, who is also involved in this project and will run additional institute days for those who take this institute for graduate credits.

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource

Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and

other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching

practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
