Join the National Comprehensive Center for Teacher Quality (TQ Center) for a webinar discussing teacher preparation improvement and accountability. This webinar will take place on Thursday, September 27, 2012,from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
During the past decade, teachers have been increasingly held accountable for the outcomes of their teaching (that is, their students' learning). Meanwhile, and for the most part, the programs that prepare teachers have not been held to the same high, outcomes-based standard (that is, their graduates' effectiveness in the PK–12 classroom). As such, calls for the reform of teacher preparation accountability systems are increasingly being turned into action.
This webinar will feature a distinguished group of presenters to discuss how best to assess teacher preparation program quality and effectiveness so that fair and comprehensive systems of accountability and support can be built. Presenters include:
