Curious about alternatives to school? Attend this free, virtual conference!

If you’ve ever wondered about alternatives to traditional schooling, then you must join the worldwide Alternative Education / Homeschooling Conference being held this Friday, August 23 and Saturday the 24th.

This free, online virtual conference will provide anyone who has an interest, with the opportunity to hear from leaders in the field on the following topics:
Note: click any of the above  topics to see who and what is being presented in that strand.

Participants will be able to find out things like how to start homeschooling, alternative ways of learning algebra, or how the world can be used as a classroom.  Those who join the conference won’t just be listening.  These are live webinars where you’ll have a chance to chat with other participants, share and discover strategies, practices, and resources, and ask questions to presenters….so get those questions ready.

This conference is also valuable for innovative educators looking to expand their scope and understanding of teaching and learning practices.

The conference features a keynote by author Dr. Peter Gray (Free To Learn) and hundreds of presentations by current practitioners supporting young people who are pursuing nontraditional learning environments. You can see a list of keynote presenters here.

Co-chaired by Steve Hargadon (http://www.futureofeducation.com) and Patrick Farenga (www.johnholtgws.com), The Conference leverages online resources to promote self-directed learning and to demonstrate a range of options available to anyone who is interested in alternatives to conventional schooling and wants to discover additional ways to help children be happy, successful learners.

After you watch a webinar, please feel free to start a discussion with others interested in alternative education and homeschooling at my online group here.

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource

Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and

other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching

practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
