ChatGPT gets a BIG upgrade (Easy Mode)

The Geek AI

This is the Swiss Army Knife of AI tools (and its not even close).

In today’s episode, we’ll be discussing ChatGPT’s new upgrade, which basically turns it into the industry’s leading AI Super Tool. Let’s dive in.

While ChatGPT 4.0 is mind-blowing, it’s also had some pretty big drawbacks since being released.

First, the fact its dataset hasn’t been updated since September of 2021 is old school. I mean really, what is this, Back to the Future?

Second, the fact it couldn’t interact with the Internet is pretty lame. That’s like having Paul Walker’s Supra from Fast and Furious but never getting to race it on the back streets of LA.

But with the October upgrade, ChatGPT has broken its chains, taking one step closer to becoming the Swiss Army Knife of AI tools.

So put your coffee down, turn your phone off, and lock your kids in the basement because these updates are urgent!

#1 - Interact With the Internet (FINALLY!!!) 🤯

Yes, that’s right folks: ChatGPT 4.0 can now interact with the web!

Want to plan a trip that takes current safety considerations into account? Wish ChatGPT could put together a random sampling of new recipes for your cookbook? Well, with the new update, all of this and more is possible.

Not to mention, ChatGPT now has access to a search engine (Bing). Meaning, in addition to accessing random URLs, you can use it to search out new information. Next, once it finds that info, you can use ChatGPT to rewrite it, summarize it, scrape it, etc.

In all honestly, its hard to put into words what this means for AI. The opportunities and use-cases this opens up are revolutionary.

#2 - Transform Your Images 🖼️

Ok look, the idea of transforming an existing photo isn’t exactly new. But unless you’re a graphic designer, doing so required a lot of testing and a pretty advanced understanding of prompting.

But with the brand-new combination of ChatGPT Vision + DALL·E 3, modifying an existing image is dead simple. For example, you can take a photo of your cat on the couch and tell ChatGPT to create an image with your cat riding on the back of a walrus!

#3 - Create Info Product Graphics 🖥️

Ok so this is kind of crazy. Assuming you have an information product in text format (eBook, PDF, etc.), you can upload the file and ask ChatGPT to create a corresponding graphic.

Paying a designer for a cover like this would cost $500+

From Amazon book covers to Facebook ad Hero Shots, learning how to master this skill could save you hundreds of dollars on graphic design. And if your information product is in video format, you can use an Audio-to-Text transformer (like Veed) to get the text file needed.

#4 - Write Newsletter Content ✍🏼

In full transparency, 95% of the content you read on Geek AI is written by a human. But, that doesn’t mean you can’t use AI to write your newsletter.

With ChatGPT gaining access to web - including current events - you could very easily use it to search for and summarize the day’s top articles. From there, you could either rewrite the content yourself OR use some prompting to make it sound like the content was written by a human.

💡Wrap Up: With the release of ChatGPT’s new update, many in the industry are calling it a “startup killer.” For better or worse, many of the AI tools you see on social have programs like ChatGPT and DALL·E 3 running under the hood.

Meaning, as ChatGPT integrates more functionality into its core software, many of these 3rd party AI “companies” are going to fail. The result? ChatGPT takes one step closer to becoming the industry’s leading AI Super Tool.

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource

Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and

other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching

practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
