A Network Connecting School Leaders From Around The Globe
Dear School Administrator:
I am a talented, energetic Reading Specialist writing to express my interest for a Reading Teacher position for the 2014-2015 academic school year.
I have been employed as a full-time Reading Specialist for the past three years in New York City. I am responsible for grades K-4, and currently service 38 students. In the 2012-2013 academic school year, I successfully increased reading scores in word analysis, vocabulary, and reading comprehension skills in all grades.
I provide small group reading intervention instruction using Guided Reading framework in remedial formats for at-risk students in the primary grades to improve their phonemic awareness skills, reading comprehension and writing skills. In the intermediate grades, I utilize engaging C.C.S.S Literacy Instructional Methods, such as Close Readings to engage students to provide textual evidence when responding to critical thinking questions to effectively improve students reading comprehension.
In addition to my training and experience, I believe that my motivation and interpersonal skills will enable me to respond to the educational challenges of the 21st Century. If you are interested in contacting me, please reply to this posting with your contact information. Thank you for your time, consideration, and look forward to speaking with you.
Sincerely yours,
Michelle Fossati

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource
Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and
other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching
practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
