CALL FOR CHAPTER SUBMISSIONS by Dr. Andrea Honigsfeld and Dr. Audrey Cohan

CALL FOR CHAPTER SUBMISSIONS by Dr. Andrea Honigsfeld and Dr. Audrey Cohan

This call for submissions is seeking chapters for the final volume in a five-part series entitled Breaking the Mold. The first three books are published and are available through Rowman and Littlefield at https://rowman.com/Action/Search/RLPG/audrey%20cohan or Amazon.

Currently, we have several invited chapters and now we are soliciting unpublished chapter submissions of approximately 2,500 words through an open invitation. The title of this volume is Breaking the Mold of Classroom Management: Innovative and Successful Practices for the 21st Century. As with the previous books, we are seeking a range of narratives (or documentary accounts) representing varied educational contexts from around the United States and the world. As the title suggests, this edited book aims to offer a collection of innovative ideas representing best practices in classroom management from authors of diverse experiences and backgrounds.

The accepted chapters will focus on classroom organization, community building, routines and rituals, or the logistics of managing the 21st century classroom. In addition, we are also interested in chapters that address anti-bullying practices, social-emotional learning, self-regulation, and other related practices—thus interpreting classroom management in a much broader sense than behavior management or discipline. This final volume must distinctly focus on the above-mentioned themes. Please note that student engagement, motivation, and empowerment were the three dominant themes in the previous volume, which is currently in press.

We are looking for chapters which share authentic, research-based, successful practices that break the mold of management practices. Please contact us at acohan@molloy.edu or you can call Dr. Audrey Cohan with questions at 516-375-5563. The target deadline for complete chapter submissions is December 5th, 2012.

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource

Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and

other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching

practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
