ASCD resource to provide monthly PD packs

Dive Brief:

  • Debuted at the 2015 ASCD Conference on Educational Leadership in San Diego, myTeachSource is a new online resource from the organization aimed at providing educators with monthly "topic packs" covering popular classroom strategies.
  • The service, which costs just $29 annually, stresses individualization and utilizes discussion forums, instructional videos, checklists, reproducibles, and rubrics "to enable teachers to put what they’ve learned into practice," according to eSchool News.
  • Available on mobile or desktop, myTeachSource's "topic packs" include topics like formative assessment, classroom management, and student engagement.

Dive Insight:

Individualized professional development for educators is fast becoming a trend, and with myTeachSource, teachers have an easy and ongoing way to learn and also self-assess by using a product from a trustworthy organization. Meanwhile, 53.9% of administrators and educators told Education Dive in a recent survey that inadequate training is a top concern in their schools and districts. The advent of digital PD options like those provided by ASCD, Knowledge Delivery Systems, and others have been proven to save districts money, while helping both new and experienced educators alike.

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource

Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and

other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching

practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
