An Innovative School Model Centered on Student Wellbeing is Entering Public Education

A team of education experts developed Wellbright, an evidence-based school model, to reform the American school system.

HOUSTON, TX – February 9, 2023

Houston-based education startup, Vedara, led by a seasoned educator, Katerina Belik Ph.D., announced that their Wellbright Model is ready to be adopted by schools for 2023-2024 school year.

The company built a team of internationally renowned education experts to find effective solutions to the school crisis that was exacerbated by the pandemic. “We have a completely outdated school system that contradicts almost every point of what we now know about learning and human development. This has to be changed,” emphasizes Katerina, the Founder, and CEO of Vedara.

The Wellbright Model looks at the roots of the current problems and places special emphasis on working with families and teachers. Parents and teachers are viewed as the vital role models for students. “If we want our students to do better, we, adults, must do better first.”

A holistic approach to child development is at the core of the model. Wellbright aims to create an optimum environment that cares for the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of students. Wellbright’s elements are designed to address school climate, teacher retention, student mental health and emotional well-being, family engagement, and more.

For the first time, Vedara will be showcasing the Wellbright Model at the AASA NCE in San Antonio from February 16-18, 2023.

“We need courageous leaders who see that there is no more room for band-aid solutions. We want leaders to sit down and see what the research is proving over and over again. We want to work with those who are ready to make systemic changes in their schools and districts,” stresses Dr. Belik.

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource

Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and

other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching

practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
