The USAID-funded American Educators for Africa (AEFA) Program (Cooperative Agreement # AID-OAA-A-12-00037) being implemented by IFESH supports USAID’s efforts to improve reading skills at the basic education level in Ethiopia and Liberia. The program focuses on improving teacher effectiveness, increasing availability and use of reading materials; and strengthening classroom and school management.
Position:
Teacher Trainer in Colleges of Teacher Education (CTEs) in Ethiopia and Rural teacher Training Institutes (RTTIs) in Liberia
Scope of Work (duties/responsibilities):
Minimum Qualifications:
MA or Higher in education, with expertise in early grade reading and/or educational administration or linguistics

Additional Details:
Level of Instruction (If applicable): College Diploma Students
Initial Educational Level of Students and this should include proficiency level of written and spoken English:
Secondary school graduates with good proficiency in spoken and written English and/or related science subjects.
No of Students in classroom (If applicable): 45 to 50 students in a class
School Calendar: (Beginning and end dates as well as vacation period) (If applicable): September 2012 to June 2013; 12 days vacation
Type of Lodging: Housing will be provided within the CTE or outside rented in a private house, no security guard provided. Apartment/house equip with basic furniture, etc (Within place of work or distance from place of work and travel arrangements).
Mode of transportation in conducting in service trainings/workshops (if applicable): All activities will be within the campus of the university but a vehicle would be available for shopping, visits, etc.
Availability of Internet and if not, nearest internet café and hours of operation: The University has wireless broadband internet service and local cell phone companies provide personal internet services ranging from $40-$60 per month.
