At least nine states and several large school districts, including Denver and Philadelphia, are considering moving back the start of the school day to help students get more sleep and support their mental health. Orfeu Buxton, director of the Sleep, Health & Society Collaboratory at Penn State University, says a lack of sleep can worsen students' mental health challenges.
