7th Annual Long Island Model Schools Forum

EASTERN SUFFOLK BOCES – Three Village Central School District AI Integration Framework

Join Executive Director Deidre Rubenstrunk and Educational Technology Coaches Andrew Weik & Jeanine Lombardo in a conversation about the structure of artificial intelligence integration in Three Village Central School District. This talk will cover the development of district AI policies, professional development approach, and creating an AI culture.

Presenter: Deidre Rubenstrunk, Director of Instructional Technology & STREAM, Three Village Schools

NASSAU BOCES – Generative AI in Education: Where Are We Now?

OpenAI, Google, and Microsoft are leading a fast-growing pack of new generative artificial intelligence services capable of human-like conversation, and creating new text, images, videos, code snippets, and more from text-based input or prompts. This technology, which once may have seemed like science fiction, is rapidly finding its way into schools with teacher and student-facing offerings. This session will provide a brief recap of where generative AI is now, what it is (and isn’t!), Hempstead’s journey with SkilStruck AI, and ways we can educate our students and staff on safe and responsible AI use.

Presenters: Dr. Ryan Fisk, Director of Instructional Technology at Hempstead Public Schools

WESTERN SUFFOLK BOCES – District-wide Stance on Using AI

The Director of Instructional Technology and Innovation at Lindenhurst, Jennifer Freedman, will share about the conversations the district is having with their teachers. How teachers can utilize AI as a tool,

and how it can be used in the classroom.

Presenter: Jennifer Freedman, Director of Instructional Technology & Innovation, Lindenhurst Union Free School District

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource

Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and

other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching

practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
