Good Morning!

I am chairing a project called Lift Up Long Island. Attached, please find the information regarding this Initiative. Please review the attached packet. The basics are:

• ·         The kick-off event will be on October 29, 2013 from 8:30-2:30 at the International Soccer Academy.
• ·         Schools are invited to send teams of 3-5 students per teacher (grades 4-12) to attend; there is no cost to the school district to bring teams, but transportation must be provided by the participating school/district.
• ·         Student begin the process of developing social ventures to address Long Island’s issues. These become service learning projects that they take back to their schools and work on towards real changes in their respective communities.  
• ·         Keynote by Olympic gold medalist/world soccer champion, Julie Foudy.

I think it will be a very worthwhile endeavor. If you are interested in participating, please register your teams through the link in the school packet.
