4th Annual LGBTeach Forum

Elisa Waters

Friday, November 14, 2014 from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM (PST)

Jericho, NY

Join us at the 4th Annual LGBTeach Forum for a day of conversation, networking, and seminars designed to grow awareness and make schools more inclusive and accepting of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender members of our population.

Breakfast will be provided.  There is no fee to attend this conference.

The keynote speaker will be Hudson Taylor of Athlete Ally.   Hudson is a three-time NCAA All-American Wrestler and current wrestling coach at Columbia University.  He vaulted into the spotlight when he began wearing the Human Rights Campaign equality sticker on his wrestling headgear during his days at the University of Maryland.  Today, Hudson is considered one of the preeminent straight allies of the equality movement.

Hudson’s talk will be followed by breakout sessions designed for administrators, teachers, support staff, and coaches grades K-12.

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource

Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and

other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching

practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
