Event Description

The Summit theme, 2020 Vision Now!, will focus on "Global Connections." Partners in this educational conference, Nassau BOCES and Western Suffolk BOCES expect to bring together more than 250 teachers, administrators and school district leaders from throughout the region, creating an excellent environment for educators to network with colleagues while experiencing future learning environments. Attendees will also have opportunities to learn more about K–12 technology products and solutions from leading suppliers to the industry.

We are proud to announce our keynote for this year's Summit. Microsoft’s Mary Cullinane, director of U.S. Partners in Learning, will deliver a keynote address on the future of the educational process and the needs of children.

Dr. Raymond Jorgensen, an expert in conversational leadership, will serve as emcee and weave a meaningful thread of learning throughout the day’s activities.

Rounding out the day’s events, our leaders panel will facilitate discussions about students in the 21st century and how best to prepare them to enter a workforce that uses technology to build connections around the world. The panel will consist of our keynote speakers, corporate executives and school superintendents, including Dr. William H. Johnson from Rockville Centre UFSD and Dr. John Bierwirth from Herricks UFSD.

Massapequa and Herricks school districts will also be on hand to present their ongoing global projects. Costa Rica, Mexico and Herricks will connecting through an International Videoconference.

Mentors.net - a Professional Development Resource

Mentors.net was founded in 1995 as a professional development resource for school administrators leading new teacher induction programs. It soon evolved into a destination where both new and student teachers could reflect on their teaching experiences. Now, nearly thirty years later, Mentors.net has taken on a new direction—serving as a platform for beginning teachers, preservice educators, and

other professionals to share their insights and experiences from the early years of teaching, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence. We invite you to contribute by sharing your experiences in the form of a journal article, story, reflection, or timely tips, especially on how you incorporate AI into your teaching

practice. Submissions may range from a 500-word personal reflection to a 2,000-word article with formal citations.
