In a study of K–12 special educators, AI-generated IEP goals were equal in quality to teacher-written goals across clarity, measurability, and appropriateness. Teachers even rated many AI-generated goals as better than typical human-created ones. The major benefit: time savings, shifting teacher workload from paperwork to direct student support. Researchers caution that AI should assist—not replace—professional judgment but affirm AI’s potential to reduce burnout and improve efficiency.
