Event Description

The New York State Dignity for All Students Act requires that all schools have an effective bully prevention plan and appropriately trained personnel in each school building by July, 2012. Nationally recognized Bully Intervention Experts, Dr. Susan Lipkins,psychologist, and Dr. Karen Siris, professor, will demonstrate ways to effectively prevent and intervene in bully and cyberbullying situations.

Victims, bullies, and bystanders will be discussed from psychological and educational perspectives. However, the entire school community and climate will also be addressed with emphasis on changes that must be provided by administrators, mental health professionals, teachers, non-professional staff members and parents in order to establish a successful anti-bullying program.
