The Gorham Educator Apprentice Program, a collaboration among Southern Maine Community College, University of Southern Maine and local school districts, is providing students, including young adults who recently graduated from high school, with hands-on experience in education while working and earning their associate degrees and becoming certified Education Technicians II. The program is offering pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship opportunities to address the teaching workforce shortage and provide useful pathways to careers.
