K-12 Report: Too Much Whining, Not Enough Rules

Throughout K-12, whining seems to be the #1 favorite activity.

There's so much cheating in our schools!! It's tragic. What are we going to do??

There is more bullying than ever in our classrooms. A nightmare. How can we ever deal with this??

Children talk on their phones in the classroom. We're being overwhelmed by noise and confusion. There's no hope!

I’m a practical person. I say, if people are serious about wanting improvement, they should test different responses, adopt the most promising, and set down some rules. Most important, enforce the rules. But what if nobody genuinely wants improvement? And all this whining is just a front, a gimmick that permits endless deterioration within K-12?

Education Establishment should be challenged. Suggest ideas and adopt the best, or shut up, i.e., stop whining. Otherwise, people might start to think you aren’t sincere.

BULLYING: You can't walk through a school without hearing accusations of bullying. Kids aren't safe from each other. Teachers aren't safe from the students. There is constant violence and fighting. The phrase "blackboard jungle" has never been more appropriate. Every newspaper in America has carried an article lamenting this tragedy. Surprise, surprise, nothing improves.

CELL PHONES: Cell phones just seem to end up next to people’s faces in the middle of class time. Of course there's no way to deal with that. Wrong! Let's start by saying you can't touch or use a phone in class time. If you do, the phone will be confiscated and held until the next week. You'll be amazed how many people will suddenly find they don't need to use a cell phone. Children will suddenly start thinking like adults.

CHEATING: Let’s look closely at the wonderful world of cheating. The entire school system is warped by cheating. It starts in earliest grades. Admin rarely enforces the rule against cheating because if they enforce rules, the average grade would be a D and half the children would have to be recycled next year. So, rules against cheating are not seriously enforced. So that's how the schools keep everything low and lower.

My impression is that our professors of education want bad schools and they'll use any excuse, any little gimmick, to make this happen. That's what you see throughout K-12. These people are not serious about building good schools. The first thing any good school would do is to make cheating, phones, and bullying unacceptable.

The very existence of so much bullying, cheating and phones tells me that our schools are not serious about making education better. They want dumbing down. They are serious about making schools bad and making students simple. Maybe you ask, but why would anybody want that? Because so-called progressives are socialists of some stripe. If all the pilots are equally ignorant, then it doesn't matter that some of them can’t fly. That's what these people are selling without saying so. Please, everyone, face the nasty reality of DEI.

The left has several themes. They want to undermine and disrupt all the traditional customs and culture. They love violence and anarchy. Remember the summer of 2020, when arson and looting were everywhere. And the mayor said this will be a summer of love. Parallel would be if the Education Establishment start bragging about how education is moving into a more serious zone. Where we are told, children can learn to read and write. Don't be surprised if this happens.

Here's a message for everyone in the school system. If you let cheating, bullying, and phones exist in the classroom, you are embracing our decline. You are enabling our capacity for self-destruction.

I am reminded of a huge plant named Audrey. In a famous Broadway play called the Little Shop of Horrors, Audrey was eating people! Yes. You see we now have our own little shop of horrors. We call it K-12.
