- I'm a second grade teacher at a public school in a rural community about an hour outside of Atlanta. This is my 26th year of teaching. I have 18 years' experience teaching second grade, seven years' experience teaching third grade, and one year of experience teaching first grade. This is my 22nd year teaching at the same elementary school, and I am applying for a teaching position at various elementary schools for the upcoming school year to gain new experiences in order to continue growing professionally and personally.
