A review of 10 large school districts found seven are planning to cut instructional time -- including Los Angeles and New York City -- with students expected to receive less than half the time they would in a traditional, in-person school year, according to Chad Aldeman of Bellwether Education Partners. In this commentary, Aldeman writes that three districts -- including Houston and Miami-Dade, Fla. -- expect to exceed minimum standards.
