A Network Connecting School Leaders From Around The Globe
How can we measure what makes a school system work? Andreas Schleicher walks us through the PISA test, a global measurement that ranks countries against one another -- then uses that same data to help schools improve. Watch to find out where your country stacks up, and learn the single factor that makes some systems outperform others.

There's a lot easier and more accessible, and richer, database through the Chicago Consortium on School Information. Their data go back 50 years and clearly show "what works" which crosses way more boundaries than class, language, or even neighborhood. They even show what "works" really means: finishing school, going into careers and stable families, etc., etc. It is longitudinal data which are the most powerful, and Chicago has among the most reliable and comprehensive in the country.
