Public Schools: there are three big problems we must correct

K-12 is a jumble and a jungle. Picking out the three biggest problems is probably impossible. There are so many.

But simplicity is a good place to start. To start the project rolling, here are my three nominees:

First, the schools are getting dumber by the month and this is something we can start reversing by the simple trick of teaching facts and knowledge. Who would've guessed it?

Second, the dumbing down of America takes place in a passive, subdued, browbeaten population with weak leaders. Where are the people who should be stepping up and saying, no, we can do a lot better than we’re doing?

Third, I don’t think progress is possible unless people learn a little more about what’s going on in the public schools. Why are sight-words a stupid way to teach reading? Why is constructivism an inefficient way to teach knowledge? Why does Common Core Math make little children cry, but at the end of this torture they still can’t do arithmetic?

At this time, I think that our Education Establishment is fundamentally dishonest. We have to work around this.

The American people generally are dazed and confused, having been lied to continually by the so-called experts. Dazed and confused, yes, but they know in their hearts what is going on and that it’s not acceptable for anyone.
