Please respond to the latest School Leadership 2.0 survey

More and more schools are doing away with lockers.  The transition away from lockers has been facilitated by the digitization of educational resources, which allows students to carry all necessary materials in their backpacks, thus diminishing the need for a personal storage space at school.  Schools are replacing locker rows with collaborative spaces equipped with modern furniture designed for both socializing and academic work.  Would you consider removing lockers in your school/district?

Florida is seeking ways to address its teacher shortage through legislation to make it easier for retired teachers to re-enter the workforce. The bill would remove the current six-month waiting period required for retired teachers and school personnel who wish to return to teaching after retiring through the Deferred Retirement Option Program. This program allows educators to accumulate retirement benefits in a trust fund while they continue working.  Would you like to see this in your state?

There is wasted expertise in our pool of retired teachers, many of whom would share a position with another teacher who wants part-time work. Options for continued full-time work immediately following retirement would ensure more robust staffing.

Helpful to maintain teacher staff Needs.

We have a plethora of elementary teachers; our shortage is in Physics, Chem, and Earth Science. Let's make the profession more accessible and desirable for college-bound students. People retire for a reason; let them enjoy their retirement.

The state also allows non-certified teachers to maintain full-time teaching positions for up to three years.

I've told colleagues: I'm turning out the lights when I leave; no one is behind me. Forces have mortally wounded our profession without a backup plan. I see first-year teachers flee after weeks, or they don't do year 2. N TFA but Teach for Medicaid?

Florida also needs to consider increasing teacher pay to make it more attractive for potential teachers to enter the profession.
