K-12 is too often a Museum of the Bizarre and Absurd

The Star-Nosed Mole is my poster boy for K-12. (See article.)

There are too many dysfunctional and dishonest methods in our public schools. The people who design these things – this is my  conclusion--do not intend them to work in the claimed manner. Rather, they are intended to create mediocrity and muddled thinking. What else can you decide when you look at Common Core Math?. What else can you think when you consider that Sight-words are a terrible way to teach reading?

Okay, an article like this might offend some people. But it might also shock others into really looking at the situation. Constructivism to teach history and science? Seriously? Look where we are now:

Professor Patrick Deneen at Notre Dame (and Princeton earlier) says, “My students are know-nothings….Their brains are largely empty….They are the culmination of western civilization, a civilization that has forgotten nearly everything about itself, and as a result, has achieved near-perfect indifference to its own culture.”

Personally I would like to reverse engines and move toward better education for a while. Let's make the students so their brains are NOT empty. Isn't that reasonable?
