A Network Connecting School Leaders From Around The Globe
Poll comments on 9/16/18 - digital face recognition
RealNetworks has developed a facial recognition tool that it hopes will help schools more accurately monitor who gets past their front doors. Today, the company launched a website where school administrators can download the tool, called SAFR, for free and integrate it with their own camera systems. Privacy advocates voice concern. Do you approve of such technology in schools?

Most shooters are students within the school so it solves nothing while creating long lines to enter the school and further subscribes to the "big brother" effect.

Right now Safety in a school setting has to outweigh privacy. If you are coming into an elementary school or any school for that matter, you should be prepared to be questioned.

We already have locked doors, bulletproof glass, security guards who require identification and take a photo to put on a visitor’s name tag. Facial recognition will not enhance the security measures already in place.
