Many school districts have postponed needed building maintenance due to budgetary constraints. How would you describe the physical condition of your school building?

In the last year, the interior of the building has been painted. We are out of space, need a new cafe and a gym. However, we will only get a new cafe in the next 5 years due to a bond passing. We currently have 1,000 students and run lunch 9:00 AM - 1:15 PM. |

The buildings can't speak for themselves; it falls to both ends of the governance team, those appointed and those elected, to ensure that they are well maintained: that they are welcoming, well equipped, user-friendly and safe. Putting off repairs that are perceived to be minor will surely guarantee that they become major. Maintenance and upkeep must be as important as curriculum and instruction. |
