Comments from 7/18/21 Poll - Four year colleges awarding associate degrees for 2 years of study
Colorado is poised to enact legislation that will allow four-year institutions to offer associate degrees to students who have dropped out despite making significant progress toward a bachelor’s degree. Would you approve of four-year colleges offering associate degrees in such cases?
There should be accountability by the students taking a course of study. We need to get past everyone gets a trophy.
As long as 60 credits at least we completed in a successful fashion I started with my AAS and now have 2 BS 2 MS and a CASAC T
2 years of college with a degree seems better than no degree. Many good-paying jobs only require an Associates.
I believe that is a student has completed the necessary course work for a 2-year degree then give it to them.
Depending on the circumstances of their challenges in trying to finish the Bachelor's degree.
I think it would have to depend on the situation causing the student to drop out, such as having to care for a sick parent/relative, but yes, I would support it in certain cases.
Another example of getting participation medals. If you do not finish the program, you do not get the degree.
