I have begun to look at retirement as a 'dirty word.' Too many friends & colleagues of mine have made that decision too soon, and now regret same. I run a private school, and the past 10 years, I have seen a downward decline in enrollment as more charter schools open up, as well as parents who are still recovering from the 2008-09 recession. I am optimistic to believe that private choices will return as more parents realize their children are not getting the high-quality education they deserve. | Anonymous |
The position is much more stressful now than when I started, even though I have more skills and experience than I had then. I had planned to work until I was 70, but I'm retiring after next year when I'm 67. If I could, I would retire this year! | Anonymous |
