I have taught every grade from grade 1 to grade 5. In addition to teaching the required curriculum, I have incorporated the award winning, multi-sensory reading program called Sing, Spell, and Read & Write. I am an expert in teaching students to read, write and spell with this program as well as training teachers to use this program with agility. In addition to teaching reading, I have also taught drama, which is a great medium for teaching students many important skills, not to mention the boost of confidence to the psyche.
At P.S. 138Q, I raised $1500 to finance a Sing, Spell, Read & Write kit for my bottom second grade class; in just 7 months those students gained 1.4 months (two months for every month of instruction). I published a study comparing a literature based basal class to my Sing, Spell, Read & Write class which showed 73.3% compared to 46.4% reading mastery. At P.S. 151K, I was elected Teacher of the Year by my principal and panel of teachers. At P.S. 106K, I have worked as an AIS reading intervention teacher with students in the First, Second, and Third grade. I worked with 40 students daily, teaching them to read, write and spell, using the Sing, Spell, Read & Write program. Most recently I took over a First Grade Special Ed class for three months, where I used Sing, Spell, Read & Write and Musical Math to teach the children to read, write, spell, add and subtract.
A passionate professional, I am adept in Linda Mood Bell’s Visualizing and Verbalizing, Idea Works, Basic Writing Skills (Dr. Judith Hochman), Excellence in Writing (Andrew Pudewa), Wilson, Core Knowledge Curriculum Mapping, Drama, Audio Memory Curriculum, Saxon Math and Musical Math.
I am going to get my administrative degree this year.

I loved the cite program. Work was doable and most of the teachers were great!
