I am an ESL Teacher in a public school district in Suffolk County. I received my doctoral degree from Hofstra University, Department of Literacy Studies. I researched how three women used literacy practices throughout their lives to sustain their recovery from living in dysfunctional family systems. Some of their issues included: addiction, familial bi-polar disorder, physical and emotional incest, eating disorders, and many more issues of this severe nature. I am currently seeking to publish an article in a professional journal that supports the critical nature of reading and writing texts that allow students to cope with issues such as these and others.

    I am so thankful to be in the co-teaching setting again with second language learners!  I'm not stuck in the corner working with a group; I am co-teaching and learned so much from Dr. Andrea Honigsfeld!
