I started my career as an educator of Mathematics and Computer Applications on the high school level. After seven years, I obtained the position of Mathematics Chairperson in the same district's middle school. Five years later, I found myself acquiring a position as a Middle School Assistant Principal where I remained for four years. Then, a two year position as High School Assistant Principal in the same district. I am currently the Principal of Grand Avenue Middle School in the Bellmore-Merrick CHSD. Hi Carlo,
I find that some veteran teachers often fear looking "clueless" in front of their students if they are not comfortable with the technology component. Taking baby steps first, perhaps by leading math teachers to an engaging website for students to explore, leads to a feeling of success for the educator.
An example of a website that might be appropriate is:
http://jmathpage.com/index.html
You have to do a lot of hand holding or have someone in the building who can be a tech mentor for that teacher.
