Tell our School Leadership 2.0 community a little bit about yourself. Feel free to post your email address and website. Also feel free to list your areas of interest. This will help other members dialogue with you.
I was a principal, Director of Pupil Personnel Services, Director of Humanities, and Assistant Superintendent for Instruction before I left the district to become an educational consultant and Professor of Educational Leadership, Adminstration, and Technology for Dowling COllege where I have also become that school's NCATE Coordinator.
My professional passions are many, chiefly centered around helping potential leaders practice and master the skills and dispositions of 21st century leaders. This often takes the form of teaching strategic planning skills, high involvement and shared planning behaviors.Curriculum planning, instructional design and active learning , interactive activities round that out.
Bottom line, all of us who care about how the children of our own children will fare in a global society know that extraordinary leadership challenges await our most gifted administrators and none of us is as smart as all of us.
Hi Rich, I hope all is well with you. I'm so glad you remember me. I'm still hoping to one day work with you! :) Yes, I'm now, by marriage of a year and a quarter, "Italian". LOL ~cpm
Yes, after seeing your forum post I did take a look and recently registered at reinventingeducation. I'm looking forward to exploring it more. Thanks for sharing it! Hmmmm.....how can we get to work on a project together? Always, please, keep me in mind for anything I can assist with in the Dowling program. I'm still teetering about beginning the doctoral program. :) ~ cpm
I am really trying to figure out a way to make that website work on LI. One of my doctoral students is considering it for a dissertation. Maybe you and I should find each other and bat some ideas around.
Hi Rich, Of course I remember you! I was so proud to learn that you finished your doctorate!!! I'd like to think that I had some small part in that accomplishment.

Hi Rich. Good to hear from you. Yes, I am enjoying life in the "Harbor' which is, to say the least, quite different then any place I have ever worked. Though we are a Suffolk County district, we are for all intent and purposes a Nassau County community...and again, what a world of cultural (and educational) differences. How's by you?
Rich-
I was hoping I could ask you a favor, or at least for some information. I know that Dowling usually does not hire adjunct w/o Doctorates, but was wondering if you could point me in the right direction if there were any opportunities. I sent Clyde a copy of my curriculum vitae as per Dianne Impagliazzo's suggestion. I used to work with the Principals Academy.
I have been doing some workshops for Hofstra and Nassau Principals Assoc., but I do miss the classroom...

Glad to see you have joined the charge! I look forward to all that you will add to this professional learning network.
