A survey published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that the percentage of US high-school students who reported insufficient sleep has increased, with 77% getting less than the recommended eight to 10 hours per night in 2023, up from 69% in 2007. The survey also found an increase in students sleeping only five hours or less, from 16% to 23%.
