Are technology literacy and digital literacy one and the same? Will there come a time when we will simply refer to "technology literacy" as "literacy", as in will the day finally arrive when we assume a digital context without having to reference it as currently is the case in education circles? Ditto, when will "elearning" simply be referred to as "learning", and when with "instructional technology specialists" assume titles more in line with the end-game, that is, when will they be referred to as "learning consultants"? We say we want technology to be invisible (don't we?), so perhaps we ought to start by making the 'T word' invisible in our titles? What do folks think, I am all for shorter titles that describe the outcome (i.e., learning) as opposed to the inputs (instruction and technology)?
