<p>I am glad to read your posting. I am scheduled to begin my Ed. D program this August and have been struggling in deciding whether to pursue a Ph.D instead due to the recent articles published around the lack of rigor and Havards elimination of the degree. </p>

<p>Perhaps, a Ph D contains more credit hours than an Ed. D? If so, Harvard will make money on this 'transformational' educational program and be able to require more courses/hours/research seminars etc?</p>
<p>So much of the field is now about dollars and cents and not about creating the educators of the future!</p>

<p>Much of the decision making in this area relates to cost of program, however, there are some great programs available that are cost effective and I recommend pursuing regardless of what Harvard has decided.</p>
