Students whose teachers have higher grading standards perform better on end-of-year assessments, according to a report from the Thomas B. Fordham Institute, a think tank. The report states that end-of-course test scores were higher among by students whose teachers had tough -- or even middle level -- grading standards as compared to those with the lowest standards.
