SUMMARY:Teambuilding and Meeting the SEDL Guidelines
DESCRIPTION:No matter the particular students we work with, we all se
 e the need for opportunities to develop and practice pro-social skills
  such as empathy, positive communication, responsible decision-making,
  and self-regulation. There are many ways to address this need, and on
 e that has received many kudos from educators and from student and adu
 lt participants alike is through participation in challenge course pr
 ograms (commonly known as \"Project Adventure\").\n \nNew York State 
 Standards list Social Emotional Development and Literacy Guidelines fo
 r schools, and the recent Dignity for All Students Act mandate that s
 chools address this topic and develop a best-practices plan to combat 
 bullying and provide a safe environment for all students. Teambuilding
  activities are pro-active rather than re-active in creating that saf
 e environment.\n \nThis workshop shows how teambuilding activities gi
 ve participants hands-on, real-life (and dare I say fun and engaging) 
 practice with pro-social skills. See our website for complete informat
