 uncheon, we will be honoring the student winners of theÂ Kenneth Gambo
 ne Writing Contest. We will also be honoring our local teachers who re
 ceived theÂ 2010 New York State English Council Teacher of ExcellenceÂ
  awards.\nOur featured presenter will beÂ Ms. Shari MaurerÂ whose youn
 g adult debut novel Change of Heart was published in the spring of 201
 0. After graduation from New York University's Dramatic Writing gradua
 te program, Maurer enjoyed six years of traveling around the world as 
 she entertained and educated young kids while at the Children's Televi
 sion Workshop (now Sesame Workshop) working on international versions 
 ofÂ Sesame StreetÂ and other childrenâ€™s programs. Now, married to a 
 cardiologist and the mother of a child born with a heart defect, she i
 s also the co-author of The Parent's Guide to Children's Congenital He

  will include fresh mozzarella, portabella mushroom and tomato salad; 
 Caesar salad; choice of sliced sirloin with merlot sauce, salmon filet
  with soy ginger sauce or stuffed chicken with prosciutto and mozzarel
 la in marsala wine sauce; potato and vegetable du jour, brownie a la m
 ode, coffee or tea. Selections will be made upon arrival.\nWe hope you
  will join us to celebrate our talented student writers and excellent 
 teachers, for Ms. Maurerâ€™s presentation, sponsored by Everbind Publi
