DESCRIPTION:Lead Presenter: Dr. Ayanna Cooper\nConference Description:
 \nThe goal will be for participants to engage in exercises that suppor
 t conversation  between teachers and their evaluators about teaching 
 English learners. Participants will learn ways to address English lan
 guage proficiency, appropriate scaffolds and  assessments with the go
 al of improving outcomes for linguistically diverse learners. (7 CTLEs
  Offered!)\n     Key activities and outcomes of the conference:\n\
 nScenarios of English learners -- to present the diversity of English 
 learners, non-monolithic group, long-term ELs, ELs with learning disab
 ilities, Refugee ELs etc.\nReview of teacher evaluation rubrics -- to 
 evaluate the extent to which diverse learners and appropriate teaching
  strategies for diverse learners are evident within teacher evaluation
  rubrics. Then discuss ways to work within current evaluation systems 
 in order to be more inclusive.\nConversation starters / frames that su
 pport collaboration -- to practice conversations to support dialog bet
 ween teachers and their evaluators.\nAction Plan -- to create a short 
 plan of action / application to the participant's particular teaching
