DESCRIPTION:Literacy is based on a solid foundation of oral language d
 evelopment. Strong comprehension skills are built upon a foundation of
  oral language skills that develop during a child’s first five years
 . In this course, appropriate for early literacy educators, grades PK-
 3, participants will explore the oral language skills children need an
 d how they can acquire them. This e-Read Ohio Early Language Learning 
 course consists of 3 online and 3 face-to-face (F2F) modules that focu
 s on research-based practices in oral language, phonemic awareness and
  phonics, as well as strategies to put them into practice in the class
 room. Each online module features sections on expert commentary, build
 ing background knowledge, developing understanding on the focus area, 
 activities and video clips.\n
