DESCRIPTION:This instructional day will teach participants how to deve
 lop two important habits of mind – how to confer with students on th
 e art of writing and how to find curriculum in their everyday reading 
 and writing life. Participants will observe Katie employing these tech
 niques and have the opportunity to apply them to the process and craft
  of reading and writing throughout the day and in their own writing wo
 rkshops.\n\nThis workshop is ideal for teachers (grades 1-8), administ
 rators, and staff developers interested in developing a content knowle
 dge base for the teaching of writing.\n\nWorkshop includes: Continenta
 l breakfast, all day literacy and writing workshop, and buffet lunch.
